Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the 48th Annual Pacific Circle Consortium Conference, Student engagement and school culture: Fostering excellence in programs and initiatives, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The conference will be organized in an on-site mode and host by Van Lang University in partnership with the University of Hawai‘i.
Established in 1977, the Pacific Circle Consortium (PCC) was an initiative in international co-operation between educational research and development institutions in the Pacific Region initially drawn from Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the U.S. (Mainland and Hawaii) were represented at the first meeting. Membership has since been extended to other countries from within this region and from Asia. The focus has also changed from one of collaboratively produced curriculum materials to broader issues of policy development and educational research. From hosting yearly workshops and meetings, the organization has moved to a single yearly conference at which joint projects are discussed and reported upon and a range of papers and symposia are presented. The Consortium is now independent from the OECD.
Following the success of previous PCC Conferences, the most recent of which was held in Christchurch, New Zealand (2023), Online (2022), Brisbane, Australia (2020), and Tumon, Guam (2019), the 48th Annual PCC encourages conversations around supporting students in pursuing excellence in learning.
